Meanwhile, my previous professor received death threats that they “need to be lynched” for refusing to mourn him. They were also fired for stating they won’t mourn him.

Just to be clear, I’m reading it as “the Prof got fired for saying they wouldn’t mourn Kirk, and someone else said the Prof should be lynched too”

I read it as obviously the prof was both fired and threatened with lynching, (by a different person) for the same comment that they won’t mourn Charlie Kirk. But I could be wrong.

The only way it makes sense is 2 professors.

Their professor got told by another professor who got fired.

Props for the university to take a stance against facism?

Oh they want me to remember Charlie Kirk? Oh… okay, I got you, fam. I’m going to dedicate my one annual Facebook post to remembering classic Charlie quotes.

I’m going to need to collect some real bangers. I want to share the entirety of the man I know him to be.

Dude made a career off of debating college aged liberals by being really good at moving the goal post and building strawmen.

When he actually talked to someone with experience enough to call it out; it really showed how weak he was at debating. Can I be sad he died before debating Hasan Piker? That’s the only thing I’m sad we missed.

Hasan is not the best at debates but the topic was gonna be heavily Israel/Palestine and he would have cooked him on it.

Remember kids, the midterms are only a year away. If your Democrat is on this list, you need to find a new one!

We will once again be faced with (a) More Trump or (b) ???

    Third-partiers, clock is running out!

Third parties are irrelevant. They have failed continuously for over a hundred years. How is someone going to build an effective 50 state organization, find and vet candidates that won’t betray us in office, raise awareness with absolutely no old media coverage and social media that buries them, then win an election in 14 months? There are some solid progressives running in Democratic primaries, and they are the ones that need resources.

At least Bernie’s been pretty successful. Theoretically someone could also run on populist policies like his and succeed as 3rd party.

No, they couldn’t. Bernie knew that. There are too many loyal Democratic voters. It would just hand the election to the Republican.

We’re talking about midterms, not president. There’s no reason Bernie has been successful that bars others from doing the same.

Honestly im not sure we need a 50 state org for a third party rep or senator to succeed. President, yeah i see it.

Hard agree with the primaries though. Thats when we get to fight for values and not just against assholes (thanks first past the post).

A whole day to remember the Epstein files? Seems like overkill when they could just release them.

October 14 as “release the Epstein Files day” seems like an odd alternative to simply releasing them.

No one should forget his literal quotes. He should be remembered for the christofascist he is. Women shouldn’t be allowed to attend his funeral because they should be barefoot and pregnant at home.

Some of that hateful bigots choice opinions:

-Gay people should be stoned to death

-Most people are scared when they see a black pilot flying a plane

-Taylor Swift should reject feminism and submit to her husband

-No one should be allowed to retire

-Leftists should not be allowed to move to red states

-British Colonialism was what “made the world decent"

-The guy who assaulted the Pelosi’s should be bailed out

-Multiple black politicians “stole white people’s spots"

-MLK Jr was “an awful person”

-The Great Replacement Theory is reality

        -Hydroxychloroquine cures COVID

        -Vaccine requirements are “medical apartheid”

-Guns deaths are acceptable in order to have a 2nd amendment

-Women’s natural place is under their husband’s control

-Parents should prevent their daughters from taking birth control

-George Floyd had it coming, the Jan 6th protestors didn’t

-The 1964 Civil Rights Act was a “huge mistake”

-Encouraged parents to protest mask mandates

-Mamdani winning in NY is a travesty because Muslims did 9/11

-Muslims only come to America to destabilize Western Civilization

-Palestine “doesn’t exist” and those who support it are like the KKK

Charlie Kirk is the first person in my entire life (am over 50) who has openly stated he judges people by the color of their skin and wasn’t condemned for it. I certainly never expected to see America regress that far back into the past.

Because they care much more about not upsetting the Republicans even a little than they do about actually serving their people. The only thing on their mind during this vote was about how many angry republicans in their area they’d have if they didn’t go along with it. They don’t want to go the way of Melissa Hortman.

I understand that this is a tumultuous time, and that being a major figurehead and pushing against the descent into fascism may put you on some crazed gunman’s hit list, but that’s what’s needed and expected of a good leader in times like these. If you can’t handle it, leave and make way for someone more willing to take the risk.

I figure they intentionally picked a day that is coming up soon, instead of using the day he died to ensure everyone still has their feathers ruffled and see if they can instigate another murder they can capitalize on
