U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agrees with him that letting voters send in ballots by mail puts honest elections at risk.

“Vladimir Putin, smart guy, said you can’t have an honest election with mail-in voting,” Trump told Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” after a nearly three-hour meeting between the leaders in Alaska. “He said there’s not a country in the world that uses it now.”

I thought they were there to discuss the Ukraine War? How did they get to mail in ballots?

Also, why the fuck would the US care what Putin thinks of how the US elections are run?

Yet Trump been in office and you criticize him like he been there for four years already

In a paltry 6 months, he’s done far more than four years’ worth of damage to international relations and American citizens’ rights. That’s more than fair game for criticism, if you ask me.

              Zero.

The number of people mentioning Biden before you. Also, the number of people that give two shits about Biden at this point in time. Like tRump, staying on topic requires a modicum of intelligence and focus.

By the way, illegals can be anything those making the laws says it is. It’s a slippery slope, and when reduced to fewer and fewer people determining what is and isn’t illegal, the faster it is subject to change. You should hope whatever in group(s) you belong to now never fall out of favor with those in charge.

I am still surprised by the votes. The following comments were not there to reveal his opinions. Does everybody track users to know that they are pro Trump or was TDS enough of a signal?

Some US states do this as well. Here in Colorado they mail you your ballot a few weeks before election day as the default. You are able to mail it back, but most people drop them off at secure boxes around town on their own time. You can still vote in person but its way more of a pain in the ass to do, idk why anyone would. Mailed ballots are far better

I can’t ever imagine going back to filling out a ballot at the polling location. It’s so much easier to do at home, when you can take time to actually research all eleventy-billion candidates for federal and state and county and city, then props and measures and…

Voting isn’t like a test, where the questions are unknown before you get your hands on it. Sample ballots are available well before you go to vote, allowing you to research all the candidates and ballot issues as much as you want, before showing up at a polling location.

And as far as I’m aware, every state lets you bring a “cheat sheet” with you, in case you don’t remember who you preferred for city council position #5 when you looked up the candidates last week.

I spend a day or two making my cheat sheet so that I don’t have to figure out what all the down-ballot stuff is the day of.

This is one of the most terminally online things I’ve ever seen…

If anyone reading this is stressed about voting in person (and don’t have a viable mail-in option), you need to know that your anxiety is completely unfounded. You will be just fine, trust me.

If the first time you’re seeing the candidates/issues is when you step into a voting booth, you’re doing it wrong.

Washington State uses only mail voting, it’s fantastic. You get your ballot in the mail, a voter booklet with candidate statements, and you can use a drop box or USPS to return your ballot. Then you can check your ballot status online and get a text when your ballot is received! It’s wonderful when your state actually wants people to vote

republicans only do it in person, thats probably why the gop banks on thier votes, and they dont voter suppress thier districts either, they do it in a democratic county though.

Poland have it. After you regiester, the national mailmen will come to your house on electiin day, but you vote in the sealed envelope and hand-deliver it to the balot box… Becouse, you know, disabled people exist. They have the right to vote. Any system that doesnt create the real opportunity to vote for people that have the right to vote is not democratic.

We all are going to be disabled at some point.

Just to provide some non-sarcastic comments mail-in voting is a source of liberty and democracy for the citizens of the United States. It is a stalwart safeguard against being bullied and harassed at the polls.

It also protects against intentionally underfunding polling locations in minority areas to suppress votes. No one should ever need to learn the phrase “if you’re in line when the polls close, stay in line”, because voting backups shouldn’t exist in the first place.

Taking advice from Putin on “an honest election”. Trump is openly looking to take away people’s rights.
