Mexico’s security chief confirmed Tuesday that 17 family members of cartel leaders crossed into the U.S. last week as part of a deal between a son of the former head of the Sinaloa Cartel and the Trump administration.
Mexican Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch confirmed a report by independent journalist Luis Chaparro that family members of Ovidio Guzman Lopez, who was extradited to the United States in 2023, had entered the U.S.
Guzmán Lopez is one of the brothers left running a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel after notorious capo Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was imprisoned in the U.S. Video showed the family members walking across the border from Tijuana with their suitcases to waiting U.S. agents.

Sends rogue gangs of secret police after any immigrants they can get their hands on, vanishing such “illegals” out of the country without due process to confirm whether or not they were in fact “illegal” to begin with - and refuses to even try to recover those who were illegally renditioned, even when ordered to do so by the highest court in the land. While the supposed identification of knuckle tattoos translating to “MS13” (primarily by means of having the same number of digits) was im fact dubious symbology, the Commander in Chief repeatedly insists the “translation” type photoshopped onto the photo actually part of the tattoos, even when repeatedly corrected. Furthermore, he constantly touts this idea that all of the people he is exporting to this El Salvadoran gulag are gang-related criminals, or at minimum part of cartel families, despite never having a shred of evidence to prove this. And while this supposed economy expert who destroyed the economy with tariffs he didn’t understand fails on the world stage, showing he has zero aptitude for making deals in any context, he does actually agree to one deal: with an actual Mexican cartel. You know, those criminals he’s always talking about? And part of the deal is that they’re going to send members of their families to live here. You know, those gang-associated immigrants he’s always telling you to worry about? That we need to get out of our country? If you pay him enough, he’ll let them right on in no matter who they are. Just line his pockets on your way through the door. Someone please, I want to hear that I’ve eaten the onion. This cannot be reality, it just can’t.

Cartel organizations had been classified as a terrorist sect recently. Combined with this, methinks he’s plotting the same thing as Israel funding Hamas and then creating a crisis for which to occupy or invade.
Why would anyone genuinely believe the thought of them attacking Canada? Mexico has had their aggression for years and suddenly the buddy buddy neighbor is the target? It’s clear smoke.
Mexico as an identity separates a lot of the social structure and erasing it would be easier to amalgamate into the USA. Hence the gulf renaming.
Or simply just making the US more of a Mafia State like Russia.

Rumors had circulated last week that the younger Guzmán would plead guilty to avoid trial for several drug trafficking charges in the U.S. after being extradited in 2023.
He believed that was the case because the former cartel boss, whose lawyer said in January he had entered negotiations with U.S. authorities, had been pointing fingers at members of other criminal organizations likely as part of a cooperation agreement.
“It is evident that his family is going to the U.S. because of a negotiation or an offer that the Department of Justice is giving him,” Garcia Harfuch said.
