I imagine that NATO getting depleted of ammunition in Ukraine factored into Hamas decision to strike at Israel. The west is in its worst position to provide material support for Israel, so this was as good a time to strike as it would ever be.

I brought up a UAE news source that said as much a few months ago elsewhere on fedi, and the responses were the news source is spreading Russian propaganda. They even used a BBC article that complained of how Arabic news media were spreading Russian propaganda.
