not enforcing a law but just warning them hey you’re being naughty is a W?

Presumably having the courts declare it illegal would be the prelude to enforcing its illegality. If they just sit there and let it continue though that would suck. I’m still considering it a W compared to other countries that wouldn’t dare speaking against corporations.

I don’t fully understand why China doesn’t take a harder stance against worker exploitation.

Im not the most well versed but i always assumed it was an attempt to rapidly industrialize and expand past the point of vulnerability from other nations. Its shitty but china is still around and the USSR isn’t. Things should get better for China’s proletariat from here

      Might wanna ask qwename @qwename@lemmygrad.ml

I think he said something about oversupply of workers compared to job positions, could be misremembering though.

The work. I don’t imagine many people would work such a schedule unless they had a reason for it. And for the proletariat the most obvious reason I can think of is money

It’s the worst when the laws like this don’t get enforced.

This article is from 2021, and is about the Court’s “most detailed warning yet,” which seems to imply that 996 was already declared illegal some time before then.

That’s great. Now let’s see how those millionaires react. I’ve been told here on the grad that capitalists don’t hold power in PRC. So let’s keep an eye out on the development

They destroyed the private tutoring industry before, which certainly had a bunch of millionaires/billionaires at the top. So I’m not too worried about this one.

But yes you’re right that we should keep an eye on it, we never know what could happen.

The more detail in the ruling, the harder it will be to worm out of. Clearly whatever it’s done previously hasn’t worked too well.
