Communism@lemmygrad.ml•why does this community not have regular theory discussion threads?
16·1 year agoThere is a reading group on /c/theory@lemmygrad.ml. It’s been off for a few weeks due to very limited engagement, but with the new users, I’m making another attempt. This week we’re just collecting suggestions.

China@lemmygrad.ml•In communist China, buildings get up and walk
12·1 year agoThe temporary relocation was initiated to enable the construction of a three-story underground space beneath Zhangyuan, which stands as one of Shanghai’s largest and best-preserved shikumen complexes with a history exceeding 140 years.
The underground development, covering over 53,000 square meters, will house cultural and commercial spaces, provide over 100 parking spots, and facilitate connections between Metro Lines 2, 12 and 13.

Death to NATO@lemmygrad.ml•What's up with all the Pro-Russia Stuff in lemmygrad.ml and this Community362·2 years ago“No investigation, no right to speak” is a helpful guideline. This is a good example of how to ask questions like these.
“Authoritarian” is not a meaningful descriptor because it applies to every state, hence “dictatorship of the proletariat/bourgeoisie”. Russia has no colonies, is not imperialist, and is no more “authoritarian” than any country in the imperial core. Russia is a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, but it’s ended up resisting the imperial core and deserves critical support in that domain, not for its domestic policies.

4·2 years agoThere’s OpenKirin, but it doesn’t seem actively developed. Another problem is unlocking the bootloader; Huawei no longer sends unlock codes, so you’d probably need to use something like PotatoNV

Capitalism in Decay@lemmygrad.ml•The Capitalism in Decay MegathreadEnglish
1·3 years agoI see. I don’t always pay attention to who sent the report since it usually doesn’t matter. In the future, I’d recommend using a more descriptive report reason (in this case, adding “I’m a mod but I can’t remove an admin’s post” would have sufficed), and, if it happens again, sending another report or contacting the person who resolved the report
(apparently an admin can’t delete another admin’s post either, but I’ve asked DankZedong to remove it)

Palestine@lemmygrad.ml•War on Gaza: All signs point to a strategic defeat for Israel
6·3 years agoI can only speak for myself, but I don’t think placing such rigid restrictions on word choice would be appreciated by most users. It’s fine in individual communities (like this one, although the sidebar also recognizes that slip-ups are inevitable) but in general I’d consider it excessive

Battery health refers to the degradation compared to the ideal state (its capacity, how quickly it discharges when not in use, etc.), not its current charge level
