It’s always striking and humbling learning how much effort revolutionaries like Mao put into investigation in detail. It shows how the most successful communist revolutionaries are as much scientists as they are militant and ideological. This science has to serve the exploited masses, of course, it’s not automatically good because it’s science, but the science is a foundational part of liberation. The science enables revolutionaries to both be proactive in planning and enables them to discern properly when reacting to sometimes tumultuous circumstances.
