Considering using jpeg xl to reduce the size of my photos archive. It can convert to and from jpeg losslessly. Haven’t actually done it yet though

Same! A few days ago I consumed a very spicy hot pot meal. It was spicy enough that my eyes were watering uncontrollably and I might not have eaten it except that I do not have much money and I’d already paid for the thing (and there’s also my occasionally problematic waste aversion but I digress). In the days since I’ve been hoping to experience some toilet spice but it just hasn’t happened! I wonder if I’ll get to experience it if I get older?

Idk if it’d work the same for microwavable popcorn bags but a wok is a great popcorn preparation vessel. Just slap some tin foil on top to keep the popcorn in. I made pepcorn on a radiant stovetop with a flat bottom wok and it was great!

I have difficulty expressing myself around unfamiliar people. I would hang out with myself because I know myself very well. If I did not know the other me and she did not know me, then we’d probably both assume that the other thinks we’re trash and would not hang out. But if we did then we’d enjoy it.

To be fair I’d started the waiting 30 minutes early so they were only 1.5 hours late. Was quite an anxious time though

“At”, “by”, and “around” are different keywords for me. If I say that I will arrive at 3pm I will probably be there at 2:55pm and just wait in the area for a bit so that I can be uncannily punctual.

Someone can say “I’ll be there around 3pm” and I will know to not expect them at exactly 3pm. Most people tend to use this to mean ±15 minutes. With some people I need to remember to clarify what they mean by “around” because I have been waiting and ready to go for two hours and they are still not there.

I think that we should require more humanities courses for STEM degrees. I had to take some english courses but that was about it. Seems like a lot of STEM-lords (particularly the computer ones) need to take a cultural anthropology course and chill out a little. Or philosophy but that risks making them worse.

I feel that if people knew how much effort it takes to create their food products, they might be more hesitant to waste them. Even with things as simple as making bread! It’s not just something that appears on a shelf, it’s the result of whole process and should be valued as such.

Sometimes I wish that I was into sports, it seems very fun! I feel like I would need to know people irl who are into sports in order to get into sports though. Are sports memes a big thing? I feel like those should/could be a big thing.

Cars are the ultimate mode of transportation. When I go to the store I drive my car. Then when I have to go from the parking lot to the store itself I drive another car. Then when I have to move around the store I drive another smaller car.
