I disagree that cartoons set lower expectations. I expected a lot from Lower Decks and that expectation was well satisfied. One thing LDS does benefit from is the 22 minute runtime. 45 minute episodes are too long.

That’s unusual. Teenagers are supposed to be gaining independence and experimenting with doing things on their own. That’s how they grow into strong adults.

After World War 2, the Netherlands was bombed to shit, and they rebuilt their cities For The Car! Then in the 90s they realised cars suck, and they started rebuilding their cities for people. Now it’s the best country in the world to drive a car, because there are so few cars on the road.

The moral is, Europe isn’t winning at urbanism because their cities are old, they’re winning because they’re trying hard. Brisbane isn’t trying hard.

I’ve never watched a non political anime. One of My favourite anime is Kaiji, which is about a desperate gambler fighting to get out of debt. I also enjoy Dr Stone, which is about rebuilding society and technology after an apocalypse, and Frieren, which is about an elf’s experiences in a world of humans that moves too fast for her. Those are all political.

What’s sus about Blahaj Zone? I’ve always found them to be nice people.
