Research has shown that nearly two million Brits only wash their towels once a year, so experts are urging people to wash them more often to avoid becoming seriously poorly

The research also showed that “almost one in 10 UK residents (8%) surveyed only wash their bathroom towels twice a year, equating to over 4 million people.”

A whopping third of UK residents surveyed “wash their bathroom towels just once every three months”, equating to over 17 million people.

    I’m gonna throw up

Britain is literally an island where it rains 170 days a year. You’d think getting a towel wet would be the one bloody thing these tossers couldn’t possibly screw up

Wtf how? Why? Those towels must be all moldy and probably stink the room up at that point.

Some will probably retort “so what? they’ve got character”. So often I’ve seen “character” used as a bailout for something this country does horribly.

      • That place looks run-down? Nah, it has character.
      • Dual-tap sinks where you can choose between freezing or scalding water to wash your hands? Perfectly fine, it builds character.

There’s no way 2 million people don’t notice the smell. Do they just really don’t give a fuck? Like how does wiping your body with something that smells like death compute for them?

If you don’t know that towels can be clean, they may not recognise it as a ‘smell’. By that point it’s just part of the atmosphere.

I read once a week thinking they have one towel for one week, which didn’t seem all to weird to me. But once a year? What the actual fuck? How?

It helps the towels dry better. They build up so many oils as to become waterproof.

Yeah I’ll be honest, once a week is like my standard. “Towel change day” and all the towels go to the hamper and new ones go onto the racks. I can’t imagine letting them go longer.

I wonder if this correlates with the population of British college students?

Because that might be the only population when this would mildly make sense.
