    fym “normal”? But also we can DNA Edit, using CRISPER CAS 9, just not that big of parts. Things like Down Syndrome are caused by a whole missing or extra chromosome which we can’t do.

    why is DNA in a helix?

    The nucleotides that make up DNA have a natural angle that they attach together at. So they will stack in a helix unless that angle is exactly 90 degrees, which would be a remarkable coincidence.

    how come we can’t gene edit?

    Most traits are affected by many genes governed by complex gene regulatory networks; and likewise, most genes affect many traits at once. That makes it difficult or impossible to change a desired trait by making a few point edits to the genome (the exceptions are traits that arose recently due to novel mutations that haven’t yet found their way into deeper GRNs).

    We can gene edit, but we dont do it in humans for ethical concerns

    just like we can technically clone people, we dont for ethical reasons

    The main reason we don’t do editing in humans is ethical. Gene editing in cell cultures and model organisms is absolutely routine.
