Computer Color is Broken - minutephysics (04:14) TL;DW: Most software is too lazy to correct gamma. Yes, Photoshop and GIMP can correct it before blending colors but I don’t think most SVG renderers handle gradients correctly. They could add one or more intermediate colors but every byte counts if you’re a AAA frontend dev.
