Smells like another faceless influencer type piece, intended to sow discord at a time of foreign aggression. Even if it highlights some legitimate history, it’s framed in a strategically negative viewpoint and not providing a broader picture of events.

A hit piece on Canada, by a faceless unknown Mexican Canadian, is also a nicely timed thing in the lead up to the CUSMA review, attempting to increase animosity between Canada and Mexico. I wonder if there’s a video by a Canadian faceless person making the rounds in Mexico, talking about all the drug issues and highlighting negative history there. “We must acknowledge that Spain butchered the indigenous peoples of South America, our history is one of genocide and murder, and it continues through to our drug cartel cultures even today!”. blah blah.

When IS it acceptable to talk about racism in Canada? I don’t agree with everything he says in the video, and there are some places where he ought to add some more context. But overall it seems like a pretty thorough and generally fair assessment.

IMO If you think racism isn’t a problem in Canada, you’re wrong. If you think it’ll go away by itself if we ignore it, you’re wrong. It’s too easy for people to pretend that Canada doesn’t have a significant problem with racism, but we punch way above our weight class in that category. Lauren Southern, Gavin McInnes, Stefan Molyneux, are some examples that come to mind.

Nah, it’s got a significant bias to it, and isn’t presenting a fair assessment. I’m not going to bother pointing out all the areas its got issues, because the guy’s voice, with a sort of AI tone to it, does a pretty expansive hitjob across a bunch of history. Highlighting some would just miss others, and you’d still argue there’s merit to this pile of junk slopaganda. Your comment just sounds like baiting to me, a “fair assessment”.

It definitely has the bias of someone that has been impacted by racialization.

That echos what happened in Australasia so closely, and to a lesser extent New Zealand.

Man, we have so much to give back to the indigenous populations for what we have taken.

It’s SO similar. Same klepto-maniacial imperialist twits were inventing laws/policies for your country and mine: “free land” if you can clear it, white christian men are people and everyone else are uncivilized things, etc.

We call upon federal, provincial, territorial, and municipal governments to repudiate concepts used to justify European sovereignty over Indigenous peoples and lands, such as the Doctrine of Discovery and terra nullius, and to reform those laws, government policies, and litigation strategies that continue to rely on such concepts. - Call to Action 47 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada
