Fucking hell… I sometimes believe that in a kinder world where people’s basic needs are met, that people wouldn’t resort to such predatory behaviour.

But then I read stories like this and think about my own somewhat repressed experiences and know that some people do just genuinely just thrive off of the misery of others.

They cannot derive any happiness or life satisfaction if it is not framed in contrast to the suffering of people they deem lesser than themselves.

I genuinely think there might be a genetic component to it
