Sponsorblock lets users mark YT video segments as sponsored, and will automatically skip those segments during playback.
Wasn’t this already implemented?
Using it for almost 5 years now. Can’t imagine using YT without it
GOOD rec, i love sponsorblock. you can optionally skip interaction reminders, long winded intros and all that. sometimes it skips like 1/3 of the video.
its insane how much time youtube makes us collectively waste with fluff.
Reminds me of the Wadsworth Constant: https://www.dictionary.com/e/pop-culture/the-wadsworth-constant/ from back in the day.
One of my three extensions I use on my main profile It even works with Invidious! Ublock origin, NoScript and SponsorBlock in case you’re wondering.
my second favorite extension after ublock origin!
This looks very interesting. I looked at the “add-ons” page for Firefox and noticed under permissions it said “Access your data for all websites”. Why would it need to access all websites? Why not just when you access YouTube?
This add-on may also ask to: Access your data for all websites
Sponsor Block works on front ends like Invidious.
Might just be how the plugin API in Firefox works. I haven’t looked, but maybe plugins don’t specify that they access a specific site, just that they need site access.
