No turbine powered vehicle likes dust… Not really defending the Abrams, but this isn’t a problem unique to the platform. All turbine powered tanks like the Abrams or the T-80, have to do some sort of filter flush after extended use.
It’s just one of the downsides to turbine engines in general. You may have to keep it a little cleaner, but turbines are a lot more reliable in the long run as there are so many fewer moving parts.
