He’s said he’s scared for his life. I think that’s reasonable given the amount of people he’s pissing off. It’s only a matter of time…

ahhh that’s what happened to me then. I just randomly got banned one day and I think it was reporting a conservative post for hate or something
Try explaining that term to someone in 1925. I’m proud of how far we’ve come.
Welcome. I joined from reddit in 2025, and happy to see more come over since Reddit has become a corporate, bot-filled, propaganda arm for many different groups
Thanks, Obam-na
Again, I want to believe, but recent history doesn’t provide that angle. During COVID there were people saying it was a government hoax as they were dying in the hospital. If they can be brainwashed to not believe their own fucking death, then nothing will change them.
I’m not talking about some of the moderates who don’t really mind Trump but don’t stay informed, by the way. I think some small percentage of these folks will be able to see the reality, just not in time.
That’s completely wishful and fantastical thinking. By midterms the base will be so propagandized again to just forget about the regime robbing them blind left and right. I want to believe it, but recent history has taught me otherwise.
These Russian assets are truly executing Putin’s playbook perfectly huh
Sounds like you’re not American right? There is already pushback at GOP town halls and many conservatives who disapprove of what is going on overall. Unfortunately they’re not capable of empathy until it affects them, but they’re starting to get personally affected. Also it’s only going to get worse and negatively affect even more people, so at that point their own personal circumstances will outweigh whatever Fox News tells them to think about everything.
do you think the left are advertising themselves?
Can we just… not? I know this is where everything is headed, and the Republican SCOTUS, Congress, and Executive have been slowly dismantling protections and getting laws in place to make this legal, but there has to be some other way before it gets there.
inb4 “just protest”, they don’t give a shit. A national strike would start to do something but still probably wouldn’t be large enough or last for long enough for them to care.
Because he has unchecked power in our government. It’s important to pay close attention to what he says and does, so we can figure out the best ways to remove him.
No one is hating him. Who said that?
Yep, I made a blanket statement about every revolution that has ever existed… Of course I didn’t say that, why are you putting words in my mouth? The French Revolution ended poorly for most in the following 40 years. That’s what I said.
The core of the issues were fully American. However, USSR/Russia has worked very long and hard to pour nitroglycerin and gasoline on these issues for their own benefit, such as expanding territory, capturing/killing US and NATO spies, etc. all thanks to their little pet in the white house now. I mean in the 30s the same fascist/capitalist leadership tried another coup it just didn’t work (where George H.W. Bush’s father was involved, of course). In the 80s they hollowed out our support system even more, and it’s only declined from there.
It’s clear you don’t know who I am or what I know, of course, but you’re reading into my comment way too much.
We both agree late stage capitalism is running its course to its natural end of fascism and environmental/economic collapse. Also I agree that democratic capitalists have violently suppressed other forms of governance over the past 150 years. And also yes the current capitalist system will make it hard to try anything else.
However, anarchism hasn’t been shown to be sustainable or immune from the same human weaknesses such as greed, distrust, etc. that plague our current system. There will still be those seeking to gain power over others, profit at the expense of anything else, etc. Also independent local regimes have no system to work with each other. Also democracy and capitalism do have the potential to yield sustainable, controlled outputs but they need some stronger socialist policies along with an actual election system that gives the people power over their leaders. Obviously Citizens United needs to be overturned, along with single donation limits, removal of PACs. Mandated ranked choice voting. Full transparency of voting systems. Outlaw this current form of bribery-ehh- I mean lobbying.
Ultimately human greed and lust for power will always be there, and anarchism doesn’t seem to have valid or robust mechanisms for controlling that. Really if we can just control these two aspects systemically, most other things will fall into line.
edit: also the EZLN leader is Rafael Guillén Vicente. CNT FAI: José Buenaventura Durruti Dumange. Rojava leaders: Îlham Ehmed, Mansur Selum, Amina Omar, Riad Darar
The point is that a revolution didn’t make things any better overall. It just sucked in different ways.
If your definition of the Russian Mafia includes, the Kremlin, then yes. Putin and co are absolutely gangster scum that work hand in hand with the actual mafia and international criminal organizations. Sure the actual people of Russia are fucked (just as with any country of a dictator).
Not necessarily monsters (actually yeah they are), but he has a 40 year history of being compromised and owned by Soviet and Russian oligarchs. I’m reading “American Kompromat” now and it couldn’t be clearer. It’s not even hidden or anything. The Russians really just, won the Cold War. They did it, they toppled the US. Good job for them.
The reality is that these people were/are unhappy in their lives due to stagnation in their finances/jobs, poor healthcare, and they don’t have a tight local community. Then these dumb, angry people are primed to accept someone who says they’ll fix their lives, and knows how to talk right to them. Everything else is just toppings, but that’s really the meat of it.
