I was literally mid conversation with an online acquaintance Sunday about just this. I wish I’d had this video then, though I sent it to him anyway to explain that what he’s been told is wrong. The funny part is that this doesn’t even account for fully automated manufacturing that is beginning to expand in some key industries in China (see Xiaomi “dark factory”) which will reduce the need for human labor. Imagine getting so automated that in order for your entire country to have a good life, all able bodied people needed to work like one short shift a week. You could spend the remaining hours interacting, incenting new stuff, learning stuff, making art, or just resting and enjoying life.

You know, I could see that, though for some reason it feels like Gabe would be more wholesome and much less completely unhinged when he rants.

I can only hope he has made some form of training program to have someone like him in place to follow behind him. I do worry about it as well, though. It’s been such a fun ride along the way.

Between this and his recent tweet on his twitter clone referencing Musk, I give it 6 weeks tops before they actually try it.

Made this change myself a few years ago. Moving to an active job actually works really well for me because it forces me to exercise daily AND I can just listen to theory podcasts all day while working and nobody will care so long as I’m getting my work done. At the cost of a few thousand less per year in income, I gained probably years of increased health long term. Plus, it comes with a pension plan, so if the entire system doesn’t collapse before I retire, I have that to look forward to.

Fuck every one of these assholes, with a high speed projectile, through the brain, repeatedly. My wife has been trying for months to get work, it’s not like jobs just grow on fucking trees. I’m going to cut my thought off there before I stray into fed posting territory.

Edit: to clarify, this is to say that everyone should have their basic needs met, regardless of their ability to work. I was just having a proper aggro moment watching that.

China is not even the USSR (although I wish they were), they’d leave the US alone if Uncle Sam would just stop trying to goad them into senseless fighting.

I’d argue that China would do one better and find a win win cooperation if the USA would just act in good faith (as if they ever have). China has repeatedly shown to be peaceful in general. That’s not to say they’re a perfect utopia or anything but they at least appear to operate in good faith and with the intention of improving material conditions.

So, how many anticommunist YouTube channels, Twitter accounts, etc, thay posted a “we’re done” post will suddenly make a “we’re back” post in the next week or two? 🤣

That and “inflation” (read: greed inherent in capitalism) driving prices up beyond reason. Even when I have enough spare change for fast food, I save it and make food at home, it’s just not a good value proposition anymore. It used to be I saved enough in my own labor to justify paying a little bit but now it’s literally less expensive, even accounting for my own labor, to cook at home.

I have a hypothesis: because its source is “I made it the fuck up”
