You can subscribe and filter out subs. Go into settings and you can set the UI to wide so text fills the width of the screen like old.reddit instead of wasted side padding.
And you can save your settings by copying some text that is generated to use across various redlib instances and have your subscriptions and filters set without having to set up it manually again.
I don’t think China would be naive to think a US company would actually comply. Even regular people don’t believe claims of respecting privacy and totally not spying on you assurances.
Surely China can’t be fine with the US poking around their government computers? Or are they?

I think people here know, but your comment leads people to misinterpret your intention as trying to discourage people from removing deleting stuff from reddit.
And a human is choosing to remove their comment. A comment they made and decided they don’t want to be easily visible anymore.
Yeah tesla is much worse. More pointing out that founders have so much more financial ties to their companies than regular employees that their actions become extensions of the company. Its why founders have to be much more careful of their behavior than even regular CEOs who a company can let go and claim to have gotten rid of the problem. Founders generally won’t give up their share of the company.
Same could be said of Tesla, but the profitability of the company provided funds for Elon to donate to who he wanted.

This happens occasionally and have to be patient for a fix to come out. Sometimes takes a week or longer. During those times I just use freetube as a rss feed and use it to open videos on Firefox.
Pretty crazy amount of plugins I need to make default youtube palatable though like sponsorblock, dearrow, and blocktube. Freetube just simplifies it when it works.
Being able to actually leave behind big tech with Microsoft being one of the biggest ones with all the changes going on when it comes to things like privacy and getting your information sold is pretty huge for some people.
People have been tired of Microsoft since Windows 10 when even a clean install would have ads, and it went from a basic OS to one trying to get you to log into an account to funnel data from you.

Yeah I doubt my chinese MiniPC came with official Windows. Had recommendation tp go through initial set up offline. Not that I kept Windows. I wiped it and put Fedora on it.
After you run it and make sure everything is deleted do a gdpr request after it has been like 2 months to see what data is left. It’ll show comments that haven’t been removed or you might have missed along with links to those comments.
I used shreddit back in the day which used reddit api and gdpr files to rewrite and delete all comments based on the direct links provided by the gdpr files. Its hard to get reddit api key now. But, nothing got restored.
I think people who said their comments were restored used things like power delete suite which relies on comments it can see based on your profile on old.reddit. There was a limit to the amount of comments it showed like 1000. So it would delete 1000 comments and not show anything. But, then later repopulate the profile with the next set of 1000 after a few days.
So what they thought was reddit restoring comments might have been comments that hadn’t been rewritten/deleted showing up.
Use power delete suite. Rewrite comments. You’ll have to run it a few times when you get an error. Then after checking to see everything has been rewritten use it to delete comments. This is so if comments get restored it’ll be with overwritten content.
Then check on your profile in a few days or a week to do the same thing for the next set of comments that appear.
I’m not sure if it has changed, but reddit had a limit of the amount of comments displayed on your profile. Like 1000? So if you had like 5000 comments you’d have to run the rewrite then delete process 5 times while waiting for a few days for the comments that didn’t appear before to show up in your profile.
Don’t delete your account. Just leave it dormant just in case there are comments that didn’t get overwritten and deleted that might show up on your account.
Tech channels get more scrutiny because their reputation lives and dies by how credible they are as opposed to being purely entertainment.

LTT is an advertising channel to me. For their merch or sponsors. Modern day infomercials for people who are entertained by ads hosted by personalities.
Yeah you have to check that specific comments you deleted remain deleted, since ones that showed up could just be ones that regular automated deleting methods couldn’t access at the time due to profile comment display limits.
So the profile might have a limit of displaying 1000 comments and if you ran something like power delete suite it would delete 1000, but if you had more than that like 5000 comments there would be 4000 left that wasn’t deleted due to being inaccessible at the time. After some time the next 1000 would show up in the profile that hadn’t been viewable before. So you’d basically have to run it like 5 times to delete everything over weeks.
I do remember people recommending to rewrite comments and then delete later in case comments are restored. Some using messages like this comment has be deleted and if you are seeing this it means it has been restored.
Depends on what you used. If you used power delete suite then that was limited by the number of comments accessible on your profile, so one run wouldn’t overwrite or delete your comments. You’d have to keep running it over and over again once your profile became repopulated with comments that weren’t showing before. So it wasn’t something that could be done in one go.
Proper way to do it back then was to put in a request for GDPR, and use those files with reddit api and use shreddit to overwrite and delete all the comments.
I’ve had the same issue of being stuck loading when I click a comment from my profile that was a comment to a comment. This one is fine though.

These days it seems like the internet is more pleasant the less influencers you know, and most aren’t worth knowing any further about.
I think the past where people’s awareness of public figures was much more distant was a healthier time. Like knowing the famous athlete or actor, but nothing further about their lives and not feeling like “you know them” because they called our your username or liked your comment and not being able to send them a direct message.
I didn’t think people would sign up for tiktok when I first saw it flooding reddit /r/all full of Chinese clips. But, it ended up catching on on so I wouldn’t be surprised to see bilibili seeing the same success. Won’t make an account for it though like I didn’t for tiktok, but what I usually avoid turns popular.
