On Wikipedia, his supposed instigation and popularization of circumcision is listed as a common misconception. It still looks like he supported the practice at some point though

3·5 months agoPretty sure it refers to a clip of the “intellectual” Ben Shapiro being afraid to say the word “pussy” when reading through the lyrics of the song and making misogynistic comments about it

1·5 months agoAh yes, everyone knows how “pwd” looks like “pussy” and definitely not “p-word”.
One thing to keep in mind with Framework is the price, for gaming it’s likely you’ll want a dedicated GPU which means an expensive Framework 16. Not including required parts that you can buy yourself like RAM and storage, you’ll be spending at least $1700.
The idea is that you will save money over time since you can upgrade individual components rather than the entire laptop, but the Framework 16 is still very expensive for the specs you’re getting. You’ll have to decide if this tradeoff for upfront price is worth it for the upgradability/repairability.
Personally, I have a Framework 13 that I recently upgraded from 12th gen Intel to Ryzen 300 series. I’ve also had issues with my laptop before and the support was excellent. It was nice that they were able to ship a replacement mainboard rather than requiring me to send in my whole laptop. So the upgrades and repairs are very real advantages on the Framework.

Technology@lemmy.world•Doubting Your Favorite Web Search EngineEnglish
32·5 months agoI used Kagi for a year then switched back to DDG after I had concerns with privacy. Where you can ensure DDG isn’t getting your data by using a trusted VPN and a fingerprint-resistant browser, you are forced into a “trust me bro” situation with Kagi due to the need to verify your account subscription. Kagi’s proposed solution for this is privacy pass, but this article calls that into question as well. Privacy pass must also prevent you from using the customization in Kagi due to the supposed privacy benefits, which takes more away from the reason you would use Kagi in the first place. I do find it odd how a proprietary paid search engine seems to get such a large amount of praise within privacy communities when there are fundamental challenges in making a paid search engine actually private.
This is probably the most catchy soundtrack for me in any Nintendo game. I will put the Mario Kart Wii disc in just to go to the options menu and listen to this masterpiece.
What’s the source for this? Can’t seem to find details about this online.
I found this version to be much more tolerable: https://youtube.com/watch?v=oY9O-WbMxO0

5·9 months agoYeah, and browsers are running the same engines across platforms, so there are very few differences between using Firefox on Linux and using Firefox on Windows. My best guess is what @Chronographs@lemmy.zip said, that it’s just allowlisting new Windows user agents and was intended to target people running ancient versions of Windows.

Not with the asterisk! The shell automatically expands the asterisk before sending the args to rm, removing every French language pack in your root directory.
The AI used doesn’t necessarily have to be an LLM. A simple model for determining the “safety” of a comment wouldn’t be vulnerable to prompt injection.

Very compelling reason to switch to PieFed. But I’m very lazy and probably won’t get around to it for another year haha
