Material Design is quite pleasant to my eyes in both light and dark mode. I don’t like Fluent Design as much. It’s too busy with the translucency.

I always thought this metaverse crap was just an obvious money-making scheme that preyed on isolated people during COVID-19. They only started developing their metaverse platforms during the pandemic. Of course they all failed to capitalize because the world largely returned to normal while they were still flaunting NFTs and unfinished metaverse platforms that still can’t do better than a private Minecraft SMP with your friends.
“Just use Wine! Just run it in a virtual machine!”
I may have jumped the gun and been sloppy in my phrasing. Let my clarify. I do think that OOP’s rhetoric could have been construed as trolling. They are tying Luigi’s current innocence as a suspect under trial with their assertion that Luigi didn’t shoot and kill. It’s not a sound argument.
Given that phrasing, I think it’s fair for the moderators to act on that comment. We’re all quite sure that Luigi Mangione did kill Brian Thompson. We are simply waiting for the courts to determine the crimes he is guilty of. He is innocent by law for the time being. That’s not the same as flat-out saying Luigi didn’t kill him.
They really messed up when the whole squad got together for that photo op. That’s a powerful image.
The bar is pretty low, but yeah. At least Google provides a pretty good email service. I can’t have the same confidence in a Musk product.
Let me remind you that this will be under the same guy who made his employees yank out server machines and transport them in an unprofessional and insecure manner. Your data would be unsafe with him in more than one way.
This is bait but I’ll get on my little soapbox. This social media tribalism is weird. Just use whatever websites suit your needs. You can even use more than one!
Things rich people do to cope with hardship:
I have to keep using Firefox for the mobile add-ons and because my account is synced with my desktop browser. I’m not willing to switch unless a better desktop/mobile pair comes along.
Sensory input induces craving
It is exactly like that, which probably is the point. I never got on with Twitter even before the downfall. Now on Bluesky I’m being selective about what I like and follow. I’m gradually getting the kind of feed that I like to see and reply to. It takes quite a bit of work to influence the algorithms to your liking, but it offers a different social outlet than what Reddit-like sites can offer.
It’s problematic for Lemmy that the .ml instance gives the impression of a flagship instance since it’s run by the devs. It gives the fediverse as a whole a bad look to outsiders. I speak from experience because it was one of the three recommended to me before I left Reddit.
They wouldn’t care about the hypocrisy. The Republican party generally isn’t intellectually honest, and their supporters don’t pressure them to be.
initiative to withhold “billions of dollars in advertising revenue”
That’s how he sees it, huh? He is entitled to your money by default, and you’re the problem if you ever stop giving him money?

Is it morally wrong to not spend energy forming an opinion even when I have sufficient evidence? I don’t think so. I am entitled to my thoughts, whatever they may be.
I don’t understand why a god would have to be all good as humans understand goodness. I’m more open to the idea that God either set things in motion and stopped caring, or is actively ambivalent and lives to cause a ruckus on occasion for his entertainment. This view allows for the existence of preventable evil.
