Fair enough, this is 10 days of usage for me always being on.

“It incurs additional battery usage.“
Does it? I always use a vpn on my phone and laptop and it’s not even measurable. Sure there’s gonna be more CPU usage, but with hardware acceleration and whatnot it’s almost nothing.
Yikes, that article is pretty over the top. It could collapse the internet? Nah…
It’s not the 8BitDo controller, but I have a GuliKit King Kong 2 controller and I bought the Xbox button kit. Works like an absolute dream on Linux.
I disagree. I’ve blindly updated every day for 5 years and not once had a failure. In the one or two times something went sideways, a quick check of the wiki got me up and running with very little fuss.
It hasn’t made a difference for me, I’m on Verizon if that matters. I’ve got Wireguard set to always on and all traffic but I still get the usage notifications. IIRC there’s a separate apn for any traffic that goes through the hotspot or tethering connection and that’s how it’s monitored. The traffic will be encrypted, but they can still see it.
Doesn’t matter, it still gets flagged as hotspot traffic.
Why use the VPS? I’m missing something but as long the bandwidth is high enough and the latency is low enough it should work. As with any VPN, you’re not “directly” on the network so auto detect might not work.
