turns out if you throw hundreds of billions of dollars at math problems, you tend to find solutions, who knew?

the worst part, to me, is the implication that such solutions are a question of capability and not of resources

the site/social structure. partly it’s that there’s so much more content now, but also everyone would see the same posts on the frontpages of /b/ or sa or ytmnd or r/all and they’d often stick around for a day or more with further edits in response. on an algorithmically driven platform, there aren’t any posts that everyone who logs in on a given day will see. the more diluted their exposure, the less they’re able to spread and maintain a second life outside of their primary point of exposure.

brother there’s no “actual work” i need to put into my life that involves watching more baseball. i played it for 8 years growing up. soccer for 4. football for 2. i’ve got plenty of trophies on… well, in a storage unit somewhere. and i’m living a great life without ESPN on in the background.
