  • At first, I wrote “Element/Matrix” and decided to not be too pedantic… But if you want to be complete: the messaging protocol is, of course, Matrix. You could say there is actually no such thing as a Matrix server either, because it’s a protocol. The server must probably be Synapse-based, I guess. But there is an “Element-based server” in the sense that the web interface of Tchap (and phone apps) are very clearly forked from Element, which is what I meant.

Visio is based on LiveKit, which Element Call is also based on (as far as I understand). It lives outside of Tchap. The DINUM never mentioned it was based on Element Call. Do you have additional information? (Not that the difference matters much I think)

A French example : when I get train tickets from work, I can’t load them on the SCNF mobile app, because they removed the possibility to import tickets not directly sold from them through their interface… 😶

KDE Itinerary being agnostic to all those shenanigans, it’s the only mobile app I know able to store such a variety of tickets, ready for me to use them when I travel, without having to print them.

It is. Working great on Linux. The only pain is it has to be recompile from time to time (several months apart) on a rolling, but otherwise I had a great experience with it. It’s been recommended to me on this very community, so I’m sharing the tip!

After exploring all solutions, and fighting a few things to build either Hawck or Espanso on openSUSE (I’m not a dev), I finally managed to find instructions to get Espanso to build (it’s all there, fellow desperate random reader of the future). Since you can define the keyboard layout AND the variant of said keyboard you are using with Espanso, it’s working as expected.

So now, I’ve associated “:$” with “|>”, not sure how well that’ll work in the future, but it’s far easier to type on my keyboard at least… Also, I gained a tool to insert greek symbols and smileys everywhere that I didn’t know I needed, but very quickly adopting! 😅

    Thanks all for your help!
