What an absolutely condescending response. A majority of Democrats that have conceded to Republican positions is no better or worse for me than Republicans. Overall, and long term, it is a much more damaging position for the Democrats to cede civil rights positions.

They don’t even have to do that. They can just do what my local politicians do and schedule it at the end of the meeting, limit testimony to 4 or so people, ignore that there’s hundreds of others that came to speak and 90% registered as opposed and then hastily vote and adjourn.
The way I see it, if you as a user like a comic enough to research the artist, and you discover said artist holds values that are offensive to you, then you’ve learned something valuable. Plus, you get to make up your own mind whether you want to continue following said comic/artist.
Or a person who liked the artist enough that they went to look for more views it under the context of “I like this artist” so they’re more likely to rationalize or defend the extreme or questionable positions and the community remains complicit in platforming hate.
It is a fine line to walk as a mod (or person in power) to dictate what is and isn’t acceptable at any given moment.

I agree. It is a core function of moderation to be able to take a definitive stand and say “We won’t platform hate speech or those whose body of work is intractably entwined with hate”.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel that the content is not always a direct reflection of the bad values that their creators/portrayers may have.
I think on its own that makes sense, but without some blanket bans on known hateful artists, people are getting exposed to the innocuous works, and then looking up the artists to find a backlog of hateful content. And bad actors are free to limit test what extreme they can go to before any mod response.

So that’s just it, progress can’t be made if the Democrats concede to anti-trans talking points. What’s worse is it will give way to anti-trans bills that would have been a party line vote to seeing bipartisan support.
In general, I’m just very tired of being told to grin and bear the less bad choice, the imperfect ally and the slow erosion of my rights because it could always be worse or because it’s not politically viable or because these things take time. I’m tired of my needs being the inconvenient disposable ones. I’m tired of these conversations that seem to have just turned into simple tone conversations where people don’t read the words and emotions and just make snap judgements and dump a bunch of rhetoric.
