Memes@lemmy.ml•Why are some people defending billionaires and corporations?
91·15 days agoThey’ve been conned, and it’s not their fault. It is up to the people who see things objectively to kindly guide their attention towards the class war, 's the only way to win it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•In your opinion, is space exploration necessary?
2·2 months agoi think many rational americans are excited for the development of science in general that comes with space exploration endeavors. it doesnt all have to be doom and gloom, although i do agree the US as an empire definitely had reasons along the lines of, “hey look at how big our dick is we went to space”
I am with you, but also kinda not; there is a middle ground that is stupidly easy to find, and Linus hasn’t. I understand that the ‘average user’ coming from Windows is gonna be very clueless but I (maybe unfortunately) have faith that someone determined enough to figure out how to install Linux is going to be determined enough to, like, search for things more than that, you know? I’ve met a few folks who have no idea what they’re doing in a browser, of course, but those people are not going to try to install Linux…
I do agree that Linux nerds should be much kinder and listen. No shame to tech-illiterate folks, pleeeeease. I wish people would have more faith in others’ ability to figure shit out, people aren’t just mindless apes pressing buttons.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Alright, y'all were right, fuck Proton. This was the last straw for me.
1·4 months agoWhat have the people behind Proton done wrong? I only use them for email and will switch to another provider if it is egregious, I value these sorts of things greatly (any alternatives to look into?) Edit: I do pay 40 euro yearly for email through them. Do not care at all for their other offerings.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Where is Linux not working well in your daily usage? Share your pain points as of 2026, so we can respectfully discuss
1·4 months agoIts pretty good if you are mainly looking for that simple itunes grid and left list style. It doesnt show the artwork of the current track and I wish it let you customize more than it does but its p damn good. Hope that dev is doing well lol.

Was AI used in the process of making this app, and if so, how? I have personal issues with using ‘vibe-coded’ software. This looks very, very nice, so I figured I’d ask.
