Systemd haters when you use systemd instead of UltraXinitializer made in 2005 by John Init in C-- that requires you to manually write init scripts and has 894 critical severity CVEs
too bad. Mandatory Internet connection to enable the ai enhancement features, and as a bonus uses built in Infrared sensors to upload your walking habits straight to Palantir. Updates are 2gb each because what the hell are patches or deltas. Uses 24w on idle for some reason. Includes agentic ai!

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•Piefed is buggy and slow and Blorp sucks...English
51·14 days agoBlorp absolutely does not “suck” and this user either has a problem or is just generally rude.
throughout my nearly 3 years making Photon I’ve had my fair share of hate comments, including one thread on a post, by someone encouraging people to check photon out, filled with people absolutely dunking on it.
your software is great enough to be noticed and hosted by several Lemmy and piefed instances, and you’ve got nearly 1000 or more users on a client for a super niche platform. you’ve done something right.
speaking from experience, hate comments really do dig into you even amongst a sea of positivity, but I hope you know that the opinion of 1 immature person does not matter in the grand scheme of things.
one more thing: people are much more likely to speak out when they have a problem versus when they enjoy some software. I guarantee you for every person either leaving feedback or complaining, there are 10 more silently enjoying your app.
yo you can just turn a choice into a meme and the crowd will go crazy

3·16 days ago+1 for Zed, switched to it and it is significantly more responsive. it also ACTUALLY supports Wayland instead of some cursed chromium ozone abomination
even if it was skewed, I knew that it’s what everyone else was seeing. it brings a sense of community (even though it started to get overtaken by frontpage bots)
it’s a weird feeling when a feature to see the same stuff that everyone else sees gets removed in favor of personalized feeds. it’s like my connection with the outside world was severed. this sucks.

7·17 days agoanthropic is despised in the open weight & local ai community. this is rather ironic given that anthropic partnered with Palantir (who does assist the government with mass spying)
