Sounds like someone got promoted to a high position. If I’m right it’s the typical “New Manager Must Make Waves To Prove They Belong” level of stupid unique to corporate.

If it’s “more of the same” I’d like the sane ones to win. Y’know, just in case.
Here you go, everyone:

I’d post a summary, though with these it is often best to go a little more in-depth than some tldr on the subject. Long story short, Trump represents Narcissism and Histrionic, maybe BPD. I’ll be honest, I’ve kept my distance from watching him. Someone else with more screen time, or more knowledge, feel free to chime in with corrections.
DO allow them to go through a lengthy process, complete with a mountain of precise paperwork, and a committee chosen by their peers, on both sides of the aisle, to accept any form of donation.
Why?
Cause they’re gonna find a way anyway. That or literally just give them excellent benefits that basically equal the recent Thomas bullshit.
Basically I’m searching for other ways to reduce these issues to a minimum long term.
Your sentiment is fine. The reason you’re being downvoted isn’t because of your desire to drive a car for your own safety, it’s because it appears as if you feel that is the only solution.
This community is interesting because despite the name many users here understand a significant change does need to occur before vehicles can be drummed out at bigger percentages. Many also know that modern infrastructure and working expectations means that a car is the only way a lot of people can make ends meet.
In your case there may be an alternative route, a bus you can take, or even car pooling, amongst other options depending on the location. The answer isn’t continuing to pollute, that’s just the easy response. But you’re right, biking is dangerous and there are motorists out there who have an unhealthy emotional relationship with the road, and against bicyclists. So stay safe, alright?
Just maybe also look at alternatives whilst doing so.
And we cannot expect them to make that choice. They are not to blame and people should not be shifting the blame that must lie with the political elite who constantly push these evil restrictions.
Could you please explain to me why you believe this is the case? I guess I’m confused and want to understand your position.
Intent, mostly. Other than that, not much. Because we can only assume why, even if it’s easy enough to come up with answers, it’s best to not leap to conclusions. I might be missing info though .
I feel it’s’s almost certainly retaliation for perceived wrongs. What it accomplishes will depend on the person. Some will see it as scare tactics, others as a warning, more as stupidity, and others besides.
Let’s just hope it’s not an early herald of more.
What incredibly terrible logic. lol
I’m fine with the arguments fundamentally. Like yeah, it’s fucking horrible what’s happening. Though also for the last 30 years there has always been a conflict, or voter issue, or something that divides the Center and Left and drives voters away. Now we also have a very real threat to our way of life, or what’s left of it. So it’s frustrating considering how these people may affect even a single person’s willingness to vote, even if they are arguing in good faith.
Everyone, don’t bother. I have made every reasonable argument against this silly narrative that I could think of since it began and not a single time has any one of these folks gone, “Yeah, Trump/GOP has promised worse” or anything remotely similar. You will receive one of a couple canned responses, which I’ll paraphrase below:
They will not listen to things like how you don’t support the genocide, don’t support war, know things like genocides are horrible, any explanation about how it will get worse, or anything similar.
Just trying to save you some time.
Many people are incapable of seeing it this way. So spread the word. Clear communication is one of our weaknesses, let’s get better.
And who, pray tell, are the “Pigs” in your comment?
And yet, us ahem “Blue Maga” are also the ones who fight for abortion rights. We want justice, not just equality. We hate wars, and dislike people who lie selfishly for gain at the expense of others. We also recognize that not everything can be fixed by anger and good intentions, that there will be setbacks and total failures. Many of us also still have hope and will fight for the rights of even those who view us somehow as their enemy. This is why you see so much less anger directed at you or even at actual MAGA supporters.
We’re angry that they’ve allowed themselves to get duped so badly. We’re angry that malicious and evil idealism has even managed to take hold. We’re angry at the generations who sat on their hands. We’re angry, just a little, at one another for never coming to agreements. While you’re busy hyperventilating, take a moment between gasps to consider your position. Why did we go to Iraq? Who continued pushing for wars? Who benefits the most? Which party fights so hard to stop Veteran care?
Be angry, just make sure to point it at the correct people.
At this point the dumbest thing we can do is assume someone else isn’t going to do the dumb thing
Uh-huh. And in a two party system where one side has been proven beyond doubt to be worse, you want us to vote third party while that side literally promises fascism if they win.
Yeah sure, and while I do that I’ll donate $20 to charity and believe over half of it actually goes to the cause.
You see, all you 3rd party types never put in the work. You just come scuttling out of a dark corner every four years, yell about it, do literally nothing except confuse people and steal a few votes, and then disappear. No work in local elections, hardly a peep in off years, zero long term commitment to build a base. All of it derailment and disillusionment.
You want change? Shut up and do the work.
And the rest of the world could take it upon themselves to do something. Yet, as with every major election, people just like you are tricked into ignoring the problems we must face here, to fix other issues elsewhere. There is always a conflict. Always.
But hey, be a proxy to the problem, world cop. I won’t stop you, can’t stop you. I can tell you you’re wrong. Shitty as it is we’re making a disgusting choice to not jeopardize an election against a fascist state. I’m sorry if you feel so strongly that the minorities, LGBTQ+ community, women, and the children of this country aren’t worth your time. Them and others are the ones we are trying to protect, along with the rest of the world which will suffer if the U.S. falls into fascism.
I do agree with you. Change is needed. However, the timing is wrong. This is why I don’t denounce your perspective, only your timing.
Well no…that would be weird.
