I’m from the Netherlands and use a bicycle for most of my daily commute. What isn’t mentioned in the article: cycling is also dirt cheap. I bought a new bicycle 8 years ago for 500 euro, needed two times a repair of around 100 euro in total. That’s like 3 months of owning a cheap car
