No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If the color of the Sun was orange, wouldn't the clouds and everything white also be orange? My friend is adamant that 30 years ago the "real" Sun was orange but got replaced with a white LED.
3·21 hours agoBecause that’s not a conspiracy theory.
It’s real and backed by facts. Can’t feel smug with facts everyone knows I guess.

3·21 hours agoWell they are real, they used them in the series.
They don’t make you teleport though, that’s just special effects.

I’m 198 and apparently it’s 6"6. I wouldn’t mind lose 10 cm but it’s not too bad either. 6"2 is probably middle + a little bit.

It’s like choosing a linux distribution. When you know how the fediverse works, it’s easy, but when you don’t, you don’t want to hear that “it’s just like email!!”.
It has to just work without any kind of choice what so ever, IMO, or loads of people just won’t bother. Look at Signal, slick as hell, still people prefer big corp stuff…
What I’m trying to say is convenience is king.
It might even have “dutch diseased” them a while. Swedens industry was (and is) booming while Norway didn’t really have that much. Now they’re back on track for what I know, by fantastic management IMO. But cheap natural resources are often a blessing in disguise.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•In the face of Trump’s threats, Britain’s best path is clearer than ever: hurry back to Europe
1·3 days agoJust FYI a currency isn’t strong because 1 unit is worth more, like you can have 100 pounds worth 1.25 euros, you’d just have 100 times more pounds in circulation.
When an economy does better, it usually strengthen its currency and vice versa, but there are downsides to a “strong” currency, like your exports will be more expensive.
It’s not simple all that, and you are absolutely right when you hint at bad actors misinforming wilfully.

Climate@slrpnk.net•Trump administration claims offshore wind poses a threat. But it won't say how.3·4 days agoI’d love tromps stupid dialogues being edited in into the Monty Python argument sketch, and john cleese just says “No”, “No it isn’t” on and on.
Of course, but up until a certain “classic” limit, it’s quite linear, right? Like work 2 days get 2 days of work done. Work 3 get 3. Or maybe you’d be as productive in 4 days as a tired person doung 5?

I want good headlights (actually already have that, but everyone should too IMO) and blinkers.
