I recently read an interesting book called “the mimicking of known successes” which is a mystery/romance novel but the scifi world building is the part I most found interesting. Humanity had colonized Jupiter, but ultimately died out on earth due to complete ecological collapse. Anyways on the timekeeping subject they didn’t really talk much about time, but it was noted that inhabitants experience 2 day/night cycles per regular earthly circadian cycle, and people will generally end up on sleeping for 1 day/night cycles and being awake for 1 day/night cycle and people can be on different cycles entirely, so presumably time is tracked within a cycle and people just sleep through every other cycle

My niece attends school in a town with a population of less than 5k and even there she learned all about various different forms of sexuality and romantic interest just through conversations on the bus and was not only accepted but able to explore herself

About a decade ago I was playing a game on Linux and the game crashed and took the entire DE with it. So I went to a different tty and started a fresh x desktop session and started playing again until the game crashed again (I was running a bunch of mods so it would crash every couple of hours or so) and still didn’t feel like rebooting so I went to yet another tty and started yet another x desktop session. I did this about 3 times in total before I finally went “I should probably actually reboot because this has to be making a bigger mess of things”

Before instance blocking was a thing I blocked individual trolls wheb I saw them and after about the fifth block I didn’t see a lot of hexbear, so it they have a few very loud individuals but instance blocking hexbear really made my browsing a lot more chill
