It’s pretty common to have this as the only barrier. If someone got into my work PC they could easily take down a lot of critical infrastructure, if they knew where to look.
Terrible, but common.
I think about this a lot. Living in probably the most digitalized western country, pretty much 100% of the software used is proprietary.
We are so deep in the pockets of Microsoft. It’s disgusting. The same goes for pretty much every medium/large company.
