I can already burn through my entire wireless data limit in minutes. What is the point in it being faster without data being cheaper? At least from a users perspective and not someone who owns a telecommunications company.

IzzyData@lemmy.mlto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Lemmy.world deleting posts with archive links and posts questioning the decision.0·2 years agoI get the impression that one of the main goals of Lemmy World admins is simply to assert control over its users. Whether they realize this or not and are just doing habitually. There was a post awhile back about the feature of users being able to do instance blocking themselves and they were pretty against the idea of an instance that federates with everything in order for users to do their own moderation. As this would obviously take away their ability to control users.
In my opinion they are just bullies who have convinced themselves they are in the right.

I think memes also needs a couple more rules. Specifically I think the posts should be memes.
Cloudflare is having some weird issues with Discord this morning.
Federation shenanigans would be my guess. If you were on instance B and moderating instance A then instance B admins would have control of your account instead of instance A admins. So if for some reason instance B admins decide to ban that user then they are prevented from moderating for instance A.
