1·3 days agoToo bad there isn’t a party that will ever actually support it.
Maybe blue states will fix it for themselves and leave people in red states to go bankrupt and die so they can have something to laugh at.
In my part of the country, on and off ramps are treacherously short in some places and have poor sight lines in others, so the right lane acts as a de facto buffer and everyone uses the middle as the cruising lane.
EDIT: Holy crap I wrote the wrong lane. The right lane acts as the buffer. The left lane is still the passing lane like always. Fixed it.

News@lemmy.world•Unemployment could hit 25% among recent grads and trigger 'unprecedented' social disruption thanks to AI, U.S. senator warnsEnglish
3·4 days agoThe current people of the ruling class can’t do anything about it.
Won’t. They can do plenty about it. They won’t.
If you feel this is abstract or theoretical, just look at the utter inability of the system to stop itself from inflating the obvious AI bubble.
Unwillingness, not inability. Those inflating the bubble will get bailouts at our expense when it bursts.

8·4 days agoThe question is which party will support which solution, and how will they implement their solution. I think we all know the answers to those questions.
republicans will pick genocide, and if centrists are still running the democratic party, they won’t pick anything else.
