The whip can not take tepreststives off committees. The decision must go through the party’s internal Steering Committee or be voted on and approved by a resolution of the full House chamber.

The Speaker of the House has the authority to appoint and remove members from temporary select or conference committees at any time.

The whip can only make threats and offer new committee positions.

It’s more complicated than you are presenting it. There are hundreds of representatives each with their own motivation on every different vote.

Yeah, sometimes they vote against the will of the voters (Israel). Other times, they can’t do the will of the voters because of the rules. For example budget reconciliation can be used to pass financial-only laws with a simple majority that would otherwise need a higher vote threshold to pass. The parliamentarian will say no if they try and squeeze something non-financial through that way.

Even Trump hasn’t been willing to fire the parliamentarian and blow up that system. It has a purpose.

Not the worst, but the weirdest happened while I was fishing in Minnesota. We were in a boat on an empty lake. It was a bright clear day without a could in the sky. What sounds far fetched is that nobody has told. There were plenty of people who tried to tell about Epstein. There are thousands of pages of evidence. There is zero evidence of a conspiracy for the Dems to be a controlled opposition. There are zero whistle lowers. Zero leaked emails. It’s just not real.

None of those things are what define fascism. Fascism at its core is defined by the destruction of democratic representation and the rule of law. Without those any other issue you personally care about cannot be addressed.

So yes, the SAVE act is fascism because it erodes voting rights. Mark Wayne Mullen threatening to send federal agents to polling places is fascism for the same reason. ICE agents assaulting and killing people with no legal recourse against them is fascism because it erodes the rule of law as does Trump signing blatantly unconstitutional executive orders or defying judicial orders are fascism.

The environment and healthcare are important. I got my degree in environmental science for fucks sake. I understand that they are existential threats. But the threat of fascism will kill us first if we don’t smash it with maximum force now.
