Eight titles? Demon Souls, three Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring. If you count Sekiro (I don’t), that’s seven. What am I missing?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do horses allow humans to ride on their backs?
8·2 months agoIt’s a work of fiction, but I highly recommend Last of the Amazons by Stephen Pressfield. He does fantastic, heavily researched historical fictions with an abundance of resources at the end to reaearch the history he bases his plots off of.
It’s basically about Eurasian tribes who had horses central to their religious mythos and how they dealt with the Greeks. It’s fantastic.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's one lifestyle or hobby you wish you got in to but never did?
1·2 months agoI was an old school skater all through the hey-day of Tony Hawk, and I also fought Muay Thai for decades. By the time I hit thirty, I was like a case study for orthopedic doctors.
I bit the bullet and accepted I’d boarded until the wheels fell off and I couldn’t keep getting hurt. Picked up a longboard and it’s like my #1 hobby now. Just did 25 miles in sub-freezing temperatures right before we got slammed with the blizzard.
So no more half pipes. Just throw on a death metal album and pack a bunc of joints and cruise.

2·2 months agoPretty sure I’m as left wing as they come and deduced this on my own, but okay.
Also, people living together in a city =/= running an entire superpower. Horseshit example.

32·2 months agoThe actuality is that there isn’t an America.
We’re too vast with too many different cultures to ever work. Driving through the Northeast could cover several nations on Europe. IMO what’s happening with our hyper-polarization was always guaranteed, even without Adolf Diddler in office.
This will never, ever work, and we need to split up. I live in a left-wing stronghold, then have to vote every four years alongside folks in rural Alabama who currently right now believe the Biblical Levithian is rising from the sea off the coast of Virginia.
The left wing states need to secede and form some sort of union. Once the cash flow from organized, leftist states stops being spoon fed to republican strongholds, they’ll inevitibly collapse. They’d probably attack us, but oh well, they’re attacking us now while we’re in one union.

1·2 months agoYou are not reading me. I am 100% agreeing with you that the scale is fucking stupid and illogical. I’m trying to point out that it does not, no matter how much you say, consider someone with a virus or illness.
I’m saying to make the point we both agree on, it’s valuable to understand this.

World News@lemmy.world•What happens to the human body in 49C heat? Australians are finding outEnglish
1·2 months agoYes, it uses the the human body in a healthy state to determine a range of habitable temperatures. There is no math involved that is even remotely concerned with temperatures in a sick person. Not my opinion. Fahrenheit factors in general habitability, it doesn’t take into consideration something like a specific group of elderly people who’s temperature runs low due to low blood pressure.
Wow. You seriously can’t even comprehend my point.
Read to your kids, folks.
That is correct. Did you not comprehend what I said?
You have it ass-backwards.
Losing faith in democracy would be acknowledging that the amount of huge money and influence took power out of voters hands, choosing Hilary for them. You’re arguing that people shouldn’t vote for the candidate they support because of a system inherently lacking in actual democratic power. You’re supporting something that isn’t inherently democratic.
