Macklemore is turning his removal from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour into a new run of his own, announcing a three-city “Free Palestine Tour” in Europe with additional artists and U.S. dates still to come.
The rapper announced the benefit tour Thursday, with concerts scheduled for Oct. 26 at 3Arena in Dublin, Oct. 29 at Accor Arena in Paris and Oct. 30 at OVO Arena Wembley in London. Ticketmaster is billing the shows as “Macklemore & Friends,” though participating artists have not yet been announced.
Macklemore said all proceeds from the concerts will benefit organizations “supporting the Palestinian people and movement.”
Due to the layout of this headline on my phone screen, my first thought was, “Macklemore is gonna do free concerts in Palestine? Like, Gaza? Sounds dangerous.”
