Explaining what he called the “sociological element” behind his strategy, Chikli contrasted Jewish communities, which he characterised as disproportionately composed of doctors, lawyers, academics and other professionals connected to political and cultural elites, with what he described as more traditional and nationalist sections of the wider population.

Those elites, Chikli argued, are often associated with “post-national agendas”, whereas “ordinary people” are more likely to hold traditional, religious and nationalist views.

2005 and 2011 assaults

In April 2005, at Luton Crown Court, Robinson was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault with intent to resist arrest against an off-duty police constable in July 2004. The officer had intervened in an argument in the street between Robinson and his girlfriend at the time, Jenna Vowles. In the struggle that followed, Robinson kicked the officer in the head as he lay on the ground. Robinson received two concurrent sentences of 12 months and 3 months.[6]

In September 2011, at Preston Magistrates’ Court, Robinson was convicted of assault for headbutting a man in Blackburn on 2 April 2011.[187][34] In November 2011 he was given a 12-week jail term, suspended for 12 months.[188]
