Hummus starting from dry chickpeas. Honey hot sauce from actual honey. Rye crackers from scratch.

I’m not happy with the crackers and will have to try another recipe. But every other aspect is a win.

I didn’t calculate the cost per serving but I’d be surprised if it was more than 80¢.

If you buy commercial honey hot sauce and it remains liquid in the fridge you should question its value.

    I have those plates.

I made this the other night, but I also had cucumber slices, carrot sticks, apple slices, almonds, and broccoli florets. I also had low sodium multi grain crackers.

I applaud you for making it all from scratch, something I’ve done with hummus, but over the years I’ve found the time saving of just purchasing these things out weight the from scratch appeal, especially when you take in the shelf life of hummus, it doesn’t last long.

    Super healthy meal or snack.

I have more time than money and I’m thinking Hummus and crackers is going to be a major part of the snackage in this house this summer. If I can duplicate my wife’s snack cravings at a fraction of the cost it saves a lot of money that we don’t have and ensures domestic tranquility.
