Hey, German here. What the f*** are Americans doing at the other side of the Atlantic? Some of you already know this monstrosity. I did’nt. This is a Ford F650 Truck and when I stepped out of my Youtube Bubble I realized, it was marketed as the “biggest, baddest Truck on the road” for the everyday American. Are you guys serious?! Is the end goal really to drive a Monster Truck to McDs to get a McFlurry? Americas bloodiest wars have been fought in the middle east to secure oil, bombing nations to rubble. And all, for this bullshit? The excess, waste and decadence is mind boggling to me and people on Reddit seriously justifying this by “you know dude I’m 6,4ft. I don’t fit in any other vehicle” makes me go up the wall.
If you want to be even more outraged by American stupidity, look up “rolling coal”. In short, morons buy large trucks like this and purposely detune their emissions systems to run poorly, decreasing fuel efficiency and spewing soot laden exhaust. The only purpose to do this is to piss off liberals, apparently.
You’re joking? Oh my,… you’re not.
The best part (/s) is when they purposefully drive in front of people with a ‘wimpy’ car, like a hybrid or EV or a car that isn’t fuckhuge, and intentionally spews smog behind them.
Very mature folk, very stable, very safe to be around, as I’m sure you can tell.
Where I live, you get up to two years in jail for brake-checking someone, and a potentially life-altering fine if you cut off a pedestrian. Cops are extremely strict about cars endangering others because they’re very easy charges. I’d love to see their reaction to rolling coal.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone brake-checking in my country. It’s almost always videos from the US.
Probably because drivers’ education in the USA is a fucking joke and licenses are handed out like candy. New drivers inherit the flaws and bad manners from their parents because they’re not required to be trained by a certified instructor.
No, it’s because enforcement is a joke, not licensing.
One of the things that’s hard for a European to understand is how shoddy and capricious law enforcement in North America can be. You know those lovely conditional speed limits that Germany has? No way that works in North America because the police won’t do anything except sit in their interceptors on the last two days of they month doing speed traps.
Swerve, fail to signal, brake-check, basically drive like you’re Bumblebee in Michael Bay’s Transformers 2, that’s fine. Just stay below the speed limit on the last two days of the month.
Where is the 2nd ammendment if you need it?
Or bikes
It’s the best possible way to spot who was the bottom 10% of the high school class.
That’s how i feel when i see a MAGA or FuckTrudeu sticker on a vehicle
You know this is by no means a common vehicle right? I’ve never seen one outside of a few pictures only found on anti-car posts. F350s are even rare to see on the roads, F150s are more common than grass and F250s are a daily sight unfortunately.
You actually probably see a lot of F250s and F350s, but they are used as commercial vehicles, often with stuff bolted to the bed (or in the case of the F350, sold without a bed and have aftermarket attachments).
Many tow trucks are F350s/F450s (and bigger for towing bigger vehicles), ambulances are often F550s, bucket trucks are F650s/F750s, etc.
F150s are for the weekender dads that occasionally need to haul something around. F250s and 350s are for people that actually work (usually) this monstrosity is bullshit, anyone that genuinely needs that much truck buys an actual semi or something.
The Econoline (and maybe the Transit) seems to be the vehicle of choice for people who actually work.
Vans don’t work for a lot of people that need a pick up bed.
The year is 2068. Everyone takes the bus to work. Their own personal bus.
The real pro move is to convert either a double-decker bus for personal use or a bi-articulated bus.
Chuck a fiberglass walk-in bed cover on the back of that thing and you have a 12-seater bus!
Funny thing is, a Toyota Hiace bus has 17 seats, spacious interior, and is way smaller compared to this oversized thing
The F650 is a commercial vehicle. You can’t buy one from Ford without a commercial account with them. You need a CDL to drive it. They’re uncommon to see, and when you do, they’re invariably used to do actual work.
No, they’re not used just to drive to McDonald’s.
You don’t need a CDL to drive these. Doug Demuro has even reviewed one.
Slight correction on my part. It’s very easy to set one up to put it technically over the GVWR limit where you need a CDL. Ford makes it so it can be setup just below the limit.
You better.
A vehicle that size is essentially a 5.5 tons truck in Europe, which is the type of vehicle used for moving cargo or modify into a special purpose vehicles. It is not a recreational vehicle.
Thank you! I’m tired of people complaining “hur dur’ big truck bad”, without any other logical input.
I do get it. The market around the F150 (and similar trucks at other manufactures) is ridiculous. There’s luxury trim levels in there that offer two tone leather, which does not seem like the sort of thing anyone who works with their truck would want.
It’s just that once you jump up to the F250 or above, you’re mostly dealing with people who actually use their truck for truck things.
Exactly! I’m in complete agreement! We’ve been wanting the F250 for our fencing company because it seems modest for our tools. Unless someone is constantly moving aroung commercial grade material on a smaller scale the F620 helps, but not very practical for majority of society. Hopefully pushing luxury trucks is just a fad and the next best thing will be more useful for everyone.
I’ve literally only seen F650’s in the wild that had big box trailers on them being used as commercial hauling vehicles. This picture of one is the only time I’ve ever seen one seemingly for personal use.
Badass
the biggest baddest truck
They certainly know their target audience: 6 year olds
Except it isn’t marketed that way at all. It’s a commercial truck that needs a CDL.
It doesn’t need a cdl
The GVWR is 26-29k lbs. A CDL is required for any vehicle over 26k.
About 35% of us have been groomed to be cavemen.
Can you name the truck with four wheel drive, smells like steak and seats thirty five?
Canyonero!
12 yards long, two lanes wide, 65 tones of American Pride!
Canyonero!!!
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
She blinds everybody with her super high beams,
She’s a squirrel crushing, deer smacking, driving machine
Canyoneroooooooooo
I read this along with ‘That’s Amore’ but the Simpsons did it better

Instead of driving something that is almost always too big and burns fuel and money, why not get a small trailer (or just rent one)?
-
Maybe it is better that our fuel prices are higher here, because then people actually have an incentive to buy something efficient instead of wasting resources.
-
The US used to have good public transit until it was torn down by the car lobby, and cities were only allowed to almost exclusively consist of single family homes with large yards front and back and no stores closeby, its no wonder people need cars. (Street maintenance also burns so much money that it cripples local governments)
Just imagine how nice it would be if the US had as many high speed train lines as they do highways. It would be quicker than driving your car.
While I dont want to ban cars completely, it would be nice if cars werent the only option and car owners would pay the costs that the cars create.

Most people in these comments act like we just have car lots full of trucks just like this ready to be sold to the regular consumer. Just a couple searches on the internet or simply reading other comments in this thread will tell you that we don’t. To get something like this you’re paying well over $100,000 and you would have to specifically ask to have this set up. That’s if they even do it at a factory. This could very well be aftermarket. Trucks this size are meant for commercial use and are purchased with just the cab and open frame. After the purchase they would be delivered to whatever facility needed to outfit it for its specific purpose whether it’s a tow truck, electric service, waste management. Etc. Just because 1 douchebag decided to kit one these out as an oversized pickup and some YouTuber decides to market like “biggest and baddest” is a good thing doesn’t mean that everyone here is doing it. Like calm down. Most of us don’t like it either.
Look at it this way. Technically this isn’t the biggest and baddest for any everyday citizen of any nation. You could have a semi with a sleeper cab. Something like that would be massive for the everyday person, and for everyday use it wouldn’t be bad, it would be horrendous!
The F650 is pretty much the last thing you buy before you need a proper semi/tractor truck. I have seen a few, and known someone with one; and they routinely use it for cash hauls to make a living. Paying LTL (less than truck load) rates are very expensive and slow compared to hiring a contractor to haul something you need in a timely manner. The guy I knew that owned one used it to make a living hauling farm and construction equipment long distances.
Most F650’s that are produced will not have a bed, because they either get fitted with a flatbed or a cargo box.
how is this an appropriate vehicle for transporting goods?
The empty mass is huge and the loadbed is small. So the fuel efficiency and therefore cost efficiency is poor as well.
You use it to pull a large 5th-wheel trailer. You don’t haul with the bed, if you even have a bed installed.
Most trucks are not this big, but some people definitely push the limits of useful or wise.

lots of studies indicate that PFAS are causing shrinkage in male genitalia and a decrease in male sexual performance
