I am coming more and more to the belief that Trumpism and the world-wide rise of the far right is to no small part a kind of fossil industry endgame. Virtually all of these far-right goverments try to block the transition to renewable electricity and electric vehicles.

And they are funded in no small part by the fossil energy industry. That industry knows it has no future in democratic societies. So they seek to destroy democracy - using fascist playbooks from the 1930ies.

Our world is more similar to Mad Max than we want to realize.

Australia is part of this state madness, we’ve just last week approved new oil and gas exploration and allowed yet another coal mine to expand

It’s truly repellent, yet widely supported by 85% of the voting public. One of those “no matter the wide spread support, its truly evil” kinda things I guess.

When some in here say the majority are concerned about climate change, it’s obviously bullshit based on voting patterns

And lastly, it’s truly fascinating to watch how parents react to the difficulty they will be imposing on their children, leaving them a near unlivable planet. Not sure what to think of parents who wholly disregard the future welfare of their children.
