Obscura - A Sonication

The newest album of this exceptional Progressive Death Metal band/project recurs to more compact songs than on the former records. Also the overall approach is more melodic.

However with “Sun Eater” you can also find brutally. But IMO it feels a bit out of place on this album.

All songs are great and it is hard to pick a favourite. But I choose “Stardust” https://tidal.com/track/396369829/u

    I just can’t get over the whole thing with Steffen screwing over the other musicians and stealing their work. Alex Weber and Christian Münzner both left the band over creative differences (basically being that Steffen wants to push out the album even though songs were half baked). Both were assured that the song writing they contributed would not be used on the album as a gentleman’s agreement. Both those agreements were violated.

    I used to be a huge Obscura fan and I still am a fan of the older stuff, but with this shit the band is dead to me.

      Yes, I completely get your point. I focus on the music, as I don’t know the people involved personally. But as I said we have no argument here.
