Does it work on mouse pads or only mice directly on a hard surface?
Yeah, I’m also not sure how good the data is, if I’m not shouting at my desk with the mouse directly on it

I’m guessing it’s the same as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_microphone. So soft surfaces will dampen the vibrations but probably not render it completely useless
