Inspired by recently buying a cajon, and my husband immediately buying another for additional living room seating because he loved it.

A vacation
Cat.
Cats are pretty great
To be fair I always wanted more than one cat, just had to start with one.
I’ve always felt that owners of dogs and/or cats should have more than one, so they have one another to interact with when you’re not home. They’re meant to be social creatures and, assuming they don’t happen to incompatibly hate each other (which can happen), it’s a lot nicer and healthier for them than just leaving a single pet home alone all day.
A döner in Germany. Everything about it is so good, I ended up eating every other day the next week I was there.
My German ‘must have more’ was the sauerkraut. It is sooo much better there than in the states, and it was slightly different in each town I tried it. My staple meal was whatever the local version was of: sausage, sauerkraut, and wheat beer.
The food in Germany is completely meh imo, EXCEPT for the restaurant sour kraut - holy shit it is sooooo much better than what we get in the states. Someone told me it’s because they cook it up in some kind of animal lard
We had different experiences then. I’ve had some meals that I enjoyed quite a bit and still try to replicate. Can’t go wrong with a good schnitzel, kraut, or pommes. I also had a dish with potatoes and bacon, i think was called bratkartoffeln that I would fly back tomorrow for.
Durum was my jam!
I had a similar experience with broodje haring in the Netherlands.
Thats pretty cool. Not too many are into raw fish that instantly.
It’s good, certainly when paired with a good korenwijn jenever.
Try the smoked paling (eel) too next time, if you haven’t. It’s a whole other side of fish.
Pussy. Also cock.
A break
A holiday
Cocaine. It had absolutely no effect on me other than making me want more instantly. I tried it like three or four times before realizing that it didn’t really do anything. Granted, the third and fourth time I only got it because my dealer was exceptionally hot and he allowed me to snort the cocaine off of his abs.
Parts of your life are definitely more interesting than mine
Do you have ADHD? I’ve heard that people who do and try coke end up pretty calm or unchanged.
Very much so. My ADHD has ADHD
I think that sounds like meth not coke. Vyvanse and Adderall are already pretty close to meth in chemical structure anyway.
Cocaine is connected to so much pain and suffering in this world, it’s one thing one should really abstain from in my opinion
A mini PC for my homelab.
A baby. As soon as my son was born I knew we’d have another. And we did. Then I had a vasectomy because I knew we’d never stop. Babies are cool.
One day I was cleaning out my second child’s too small clothes and legitimately thought “If we have another I won’t have to do this right now.” Babies are cool indeed!
I only have one and getting rid of his stuff he grows out of is one of the hardest things in life.
Yeah. We have a small collection.
My mom wanted to make a quilt out of his old shirts from when he was little, but ~7 years on hasn’t attempted anything more than collecting shirts.
I always wished for a third or fourth but we effective an out of time. First was I don’t care if it’s boy or girl as long as it’s healthy. Second I wanted boy because two of the same is easier. But another opportunity for a little girl would have been nice. Babies are cool, kids are cool, teens are cool and college kids are cool. I can’t wait to meet the young adults they are becoming
Do you like all babies or just prefer your own?
I like all babies. I do prefer my own, and I only moon over babies if I know the parents and have approval…
What is it that you like about them? This is a genuine question I’m not a baby kinda person.
When I was young I was a bit of an arse. Raised by narcissists, I definitely had narcissistic tendencies. It was all I knew. When my first son was born it was a profound moment. I saw the potential in that tiny, helpless baby and his possible futures… Based on what I was and what I had to teach, I realised that those futures weren’t great. So I changed. I have tried every day since to be the parent that I wish I had. I have embraced empathy and kindness. I have shed the anger and vanity… And I have forgiven myself for not doing it sooner. I’m not perfect. I make mistakes. When I see a baby I see the potential. It reminds me of how much I’ve changed, how proud of my kids I am, how much I love my family, how much joy I have in my life.
More or less…
Do you think you wouldn’t care about babies if you were born with empathy and a drive to be a kind gentle teaching human?
“Born with…?” We are born with nothing but potential. We are a product of our environment, right up until we realise that we are a product of our environment. Then we have a choice; continue as we are, or choose to be something different. It doesn’t matter which we choose, though… We can no longer blame our parents, our society, our environment, for who we are.
That is a strange question, though. If I was born with empathy and a drive to be a kind, gentle, teaching human then I think babies would be high on the list of people I would want to spend time with. Kindness begets kindness and we know the world could use more kindness!
People like you are so strange to me it’s like watching the birth of a child is some traumatic brain injury that changes you forever.
An orgasm, a break, a euro, a 3D printer.

Maybe more men do, I always just want to go again.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy and brusied.
a toot of booger sugar, cuno loves that brain boost shit
Wanna split a kilo?
A mouthful of titty.
Sports cars. It sucks knowing you are contributing to climate change AND not even having fun doing it. Family sedans, SUVs and big trucks suck shit. So I drive my little MX-5 as much as I can now. And get to smile that I’m making double the gas mileage of my jeep and having 10X more fun while doing it.

No argument here. It’s by far my favorite car I’ve ever driven, and I’ve owned a couple corvettes, a GTO (second favorite), a firebird, WRX. I’ve driven cars of friends with everything from M3s to 911s and honestly everything in between. Nothing has put a smile on my face like the MX-5.
I feel similarly about my compact. It’s easy to park, it has plenty of space for everything I need, it’s adorable, and I fill it like once a month maybe? Honestly sometimes less?
I’ve driven everything due to work, from compact cars to SUVs and even small trucks. I can parallel park with all of them, even with a trailer added.
I have once driven a Smart Fortwo. I could not park. I could touch the rear window from the drivers seat, but I could not park.
My first breath as a newborn.
Breathing, the deadliest addiction.
I’m not addicted, I can stop whenever I want to!
I could stop for the rest of my life!
It’s not even the addiction that gets you; It’s the withdrawal symptoms after you quit.
100% fatality rate.
Man that smell never did anything for me until I smelled my own, then I understood.
Before that it was nasty AF!
USB rechargeable AA batteries.
I still have friends who she’ll put like 20 bucks for a 4 pack of AAs regularly. Dude just get the rechargeables
Depends on the device, some really don’t like rechargeable ones. And for device that get changed so infrequently, like tv remote, use alkaline.
I’ve switched to lithium batteries. People bulk when they see the price but they’re actually cheaper in the long run because they last for ages.
The brand of rechargeable batteries matters a surprising amount, if your device doesn’t play nice maybe try a better brand? My Quest 1 basically only accepts Panasonic Eneloop Pros, I get quite a bit of input lag when using random offbrand rechargeable batteries
If I had to take a guess, it’s probably from the voltage of the battery, if you have a volt meter/multimeter you can test out how the batteries work before putting them in
I disagree. Very few devices don’t work anymore, and for things like remotes rechargeables are a no brainer. One time cost and then charging them even once and you’ve made your money back. The only device I always choose alkaline is smoke detectors.
Well I have the enelope batteries the someone else suggested, and Amazon basic rechargeable. And devices like my Lazer thermometer, certain mice, certain flashlights tend to not operate fully or as long. Thought the device was just on it’s last leg until I popped a generic alkaline in it.
I don’t have any super fancy high end rechargeable AA batteries, I’ve just noticed over the years they’re not 100% equal in every device. I use rechargeable when I can, but have disposable alkaline if the device sees limited functionality with rechargeable.
It’s the voltage.
An “Alkaline” AA cell is 1.5v at new and it slowly tapers off as it discharges.
A “rechargeable” AA is 1.2v fully charged, and stays there until about 30% charge (IIRC, it’s been decades since I used them) then the voltage falls off a cliff.
From that you can see that a device that uses two AAs is designed to run at 3v, but when you use rechargeables, they only kick out 2.4v.
(They’ll do that 2.4v for a lot more AmpHours than the alkaline can do their 3v, and can be stuffed full of electrons to do it over and over again though)
Like everything in engineering it’s about the right tool for the job. 💛
I thought I remembered reading something like this, but couldn’t find it and then had to do other stuff.
That’s me. The problem is I need longevity. Most of my devices no longer use enough power to use up batteries but I want them To last as long as possible before I have to deal t with them again …… and that’s disposables
At least we’re no longer doing that with game controllers: no battery lasted in those but my kids were unwilling or unable to manage rechargeable . We all went back to wired controllers so there are no longer batteries to die
