EDIT due to the recent feedback of @AnarchoBolshevik@lemmygrad.ml

There are three important context that needs to be understood here:

  1. There is currently an antifascist war going on Ukraine.

  2. Both groups in the picture are fighting this war provoked by NATO.

  3. The saying “History doesn’t repeat itself but it rhymes” means that events may not occur again in exactly the same way but there often are enough similarities to make it seem like a spot of deja vu. The similarity here is with the Second world war which in Russia is called the Great Patriotic War.

If you all need more information regarding any of these, please refer to AnarchoBolshevik sub c/capitalismInDecay or this sub.

This post is to remind everyone that the Russian SMO and the Ukraine war are antifascist.

Have you seriously never before seen lazy comparisons like that?

In reddit, yes but here is not very common. In great part, it is thanks to mods like you and the admins that do a great work at education. You also go beyond in the education by keeping the sub c/capitalismInDecay updated.

You didn’t explain anything in your opening post.

Well, I thought that the quote will be enough to contextualize both pictures but now I stand corrected. Thanks.

I just left a group because two people in it called me stupid and accused me of insulting their tradition, and now I’m trying to reason with you telling you that your vague, cryptic bullshit thread doesn’t do anything but make you look boneheaded, and you keep missing the obvious. I would just delete your shitty thread if I didn’t think that somebody else would restore it. Fuck this shit.

      I am sorry, Anarcho-Bolchevik.

After the way that I snapped at you and called you names, I think that the most responsible thing for me to do is resign as moderator of this subcommunity, at least for the time being. I really regret the way that I mistreated and upset you, so I want to apologize in public for that, and I wish that I could do something better than erase a couple of my lousy comments and give up my local moderation privileges.

With your apology, it is enough for me. In public and to all of Lemmygrad, I want to remind you that you are a valuable person for me and I am pretty sure to Lemmygrad as well. I love reading your posts and your inputs.

From my point of view, there is no need to resign as a mod. Please, don’t let this incident make you forget that you have done a great job at moderating and educating.

All I say is this beautiful idiom: Let bygones be bygones

Honestly that’s not at all how i interpreted this post. I thought that OP’s intended message was pretty clear. However i will admit that you may be right about how some “normies” would interpret this image without any additional context…maybe something like: “80 years later and the Hammer and Sickle is still fighting against the Swastika” should be added.

So yes you’re right to point out that perhaps this needed a sentence or two of clarification. I’m sorry that you have had such negative experiences recently, you don’t deserve that, but that doesn’t have anything to do with this post. I feel you are being needlessly hostile toward the OP here who obviously meant well. Maybe offer polite constructive criticism next time?

I didn’t think so either; but I may have, in my earliest days, here. Plus the Nazi instance in constant denial and derision of things they don’t neither understand, nor seek to understand. And if I’m being honest, I was like that too, once in the not very distant past.

But yes, the post did come across in an unnecessarily hostile manner. I have a deep admiration for all of the regular, in-depth posters here, and am indebted to and extremely grateful for posts that trigger weeks and months of contemplation, as well as boundless patience in helping me understand things my aging and under-educated mind has difficulty grasping. This thread hurts my heart, because it’s like watching a blowup in a close-knit family that we of our own volition chose to be, rather than were forced into by blood and soil.
