I’m interested in this, too. I’m not a developer but, seeing how well NewPipe works without Google sign-in on Android, I’d think a Kodi add-on using the same technique would be preferable to mucking about with API keys?
Free tube works even better than NewPipe! So it’s definitely possible. Free tube also requires constant tweaking and updating by the developers to continue winning the arms race. So while it’s totally possible, it requires manpower.
