I’ve asked several questions online in an attempt to find an answer to something totally unrelated to politics, only to get bombarded with political answers and accusations.

My last post was a picture that I took and posted to my hometown community of a contrail that emanated from the ground and went straight up at a 90° angle. It was obvious where I took the picture and the approximate location of where the object launched from.

I’m not an expert on jets. I don’t know of a jet that takes off at a 90° angle, but there could be. Nobody addressed that question.

I also don’t know of any airports in that direction. I know of a very small one, but it can only accommodate small personal planes, and no jets of any kind. There might be an airport that I don’t know of, but nobidy addressed that question either.

I had a few answers that just said “it’s a plane”. Those dumbasses have been around forever. The rest of the answers were either accusing me of trying to spread chemtrail conspiracies, or convince me of them. The entire thread devolved into a stupid argument of chemtrails and not a single person addressed either of my questions.

Why is there this political lense that people see everything through? It’s like they are trying to look through this lense and either welcome me as a political ally, or target me as their political enemy. I’m neither an ally nor an enemy and my questions are never political. I’m just a fellow human that nobody knows asking a question because I’m curious what the answer is to it, if anyone knows.

F-35 was more the high-profile failure. The F-22 was just produced in lower numbers than planned because there was no perceived need for a specialised air superiority fighter in the expected numbers after the Soviet collapse.
