So many. Everything I love goes away. The first that comes to mind is Crescent brand au jus. It was the best out there, period.
The next is the bruschetta chicken ciabatta sandwich that Jack in the Box used to have. Amazing.
Uno candy bars are technically still around but impossible to find. I love those little bastards.
There are more but I can’t think of them. Do the myriad of products that changed their recipes thinking no one would notice count? I noticed. Sometimes the new thing is dead to me.
Also those old “fire” “rain” element drinks (sobe?) were unbelievably good. In fact sobe was so good in the 90s/00s but changed recipes and packaging so that stuff is bleh to me now.
Original Surge cola. They changed it for the relaunch and it never was quite right. I used to have one every day before [sport] practice in high school.
Oh! Trader Joe’s had this pepperjack quiche that was out of this world. Haven’t seen it in years. It was the only reason for me to go there.
Edit: this post made me hungry and sad
Not the one you’re replying to but my SO was a terrible driver and still has issues. At first I brought it to them calmly but over the years it turned into nagging. That being said, their driving has improved significantly. Much safer than it was but they still get mad at other cars who were being oblivious. They also admitted they have problems seeing at night so I always drive at night now.
They’re aware I have a problem with their driving and it is a source of contention in our relationship but not enough to break up over.
Pfft even if you know somebody that doesn’t help if hotshot fucking Linda who speaks 5 languages and has a PhD plus 5 years experience at age 28 decides to apply on a whim. She just came back from her fellowship in France, climbed the nearest mountain after running a marathon, has kids, and shares all of the bar crawling hobbies as the interview panel.
But I’m not fucking bitter.
Tl;Dr: the same advice as everything. Tailor your resume with keywords from the job description, and write a cover letter.
Sorry, no. I forgot because I am on a plan.
But Avenza has a free tier and I like it better honestly. Much nicer/easier to create interest points. You can use their basemap or make your own in Qgis if you have any GIS skills or use any PDF that has geo info embedded like a usgs topo map.
You can find any usgs topo map for free from usgs and load that into Avenza easily.
If you’re interested and this sounds like what you’re looking for I can dig up some links.
I had to switch to Esri Field Maps for work so I haven’t used Avenza since they implemented a ton of new features but I still have it on my phone because it’s a good app.
Have you considered something like Avenza? I believe they have live basemaps now. There’s also Fulcrum (premium $) and Esri Field Maps.
These require some work up front but these are what we researchers use to navigate and collect data in the field.
I switched from Google Podcasts to Podcast Guru when Google Podcasts shut down. It seems ok so far.

I did too at first, you’re not alone.
I live rurally and have spent the night without power 3 times in the last 2 months.
It gets old.
Hahaha you should see the outage map of Washington State.
What do I like to do? Nothing, I hate power outages.
What I typically do is I have a large stockpile of candles from an old MLM scheme. I light those and play on my phone if there’s Internet. We have multiple battery banks for these occasions.
If there’s no Internet I will read. Both ebooks and regular books because my attention will shift.
I also try to do something productive like study for something.
Most of all I pile like eleventy billion blankets on the bed because I’m so cold. The furry ones are poor space heaters.
When I was a kid we always played games. Like charades or something. My dad would light the camp stove and we’d entertain ourselves for the evening as a family. They were nice.
Yep.
Hello traumatic memory I had been successfully repressing.
Still enjoyable to watch. I mean you can’t judge it by today’s standards but it is fun.
Ditto. Hated them as a kid, then as a young adult I could tolerate them cooked, now I could eat them raw (on/in something). Tastes change, man.
Same thing with mushrooms and mustard.
Y’all don’t eat those too? They’re delicious and extra crunchy.
Well, it was the birthplace of t_d… not like it didn’t have lots of right wing voices before.
I did the thing and got a tattoo of something special between me and my spouse.
Now ex-spouse.
Am currently getting laser tattoo removal to lighten it enough for a cover up.
