Whenever I see the word “OpenAI”, I substitute it with “my cat” and the world makes a little more sense.
For example:
‘Apple is getting this wrong,’ says my cat — startup blasts iPhone maker over lawsuit alleging it stole confidential information through ex-Apple employees
Also, AI with Assumed Intelligence and LLM with Unsupervised Text Extruders.
This is meaningless without sources.
For the majority of the global population that’s a day late, we’re already dealing with Friday.
There’s a point at which human eyesight and brain processing just can’t tell. I mean, for most of the last century we’ve been flashing stills onto a white screen at the rate of 24 frames per second and we called it a movie.
In my experience, actual 4k is pretty close to “real” from a resolution perspective, but field of view needs work.
I’ve never worn 1080p goggles, but I suspect that it’s getting remarkably close to good enough.
At some point adding more pixels seems like a waste of energy.
I don’t know where exactly that point is, but I’d be surprised if it was anywhere near 32k.

Unfortunately, my phone is not on the supported hardware list.
I discovered a Nokia X20 part of the Android One program, that has native Android on it. I loved it so much, I bought a second one, even though my first is still going strong.
Two issues, no more OS updates. I’m stuck on Android 14, and there’s a weird bug with the navigation buttons vanishing from time to time.
Not a recommendation as such, more that there are phones that run unadulterated Android.
We bought exactly one Samsung Android device, that attempted to force us to use Samsung tools for:

We won’t ever buy a Samsung Android device again.

Which of those entries can actually be trusted? I’m asking because so far I’ve seen no evidence in any Android development of a chain of trust.
How do you know for example that these ROMs aren’t riddled with spyware, exploits or info-stealers?
