A glass of 1965 Chateau Cheval Blanc. We were being entertained by friends in their house which had a significant wine cellar. I protested repeatedly that I was not going to appreciate it, but they insisted it was for friends. It was very nice. I normally spend about £15 a bottle on wine, that bottle was worth about a thousand times that.

As an aside, they have a rack with bottles reserved for celebrating some individual’s deaths. I’ll let you guess who.
